I'm very excited to launch the series of Altar Icons // Devotional altar artworks today! Six months in the making -- these were originally basic concept images for wood carvings but they developed into something else. And I couldn't be happier! A process which began by creating bold silhouettes from reference images to line-work, detailing and digital painting techniques in photoshop and then into texturing and fine detail, it was hard work but a real joy.  So I'm so proud to present Hekate, Jupiter, Isis, Mercury / Hermes and Saint Cyprian of Antioch. They're printed in really tactile heavy 295gsm...

So here's something a bit different -- I've spent the weekend finishing off the designs for a series of altar icons...⁣⁣⁣I'd started by blocking out the silhouettes in photoshop to get the form and flow right. Now I'm adding the details and consulting a load of reference material as I go. A series of five pieces - they were originally planned as concept sketches for future wood carvings but they seem to have taken on a life of their own...⁣⁣

Hello folks. I hope you are all well. Just a quick post here as I'm caught up in the creative flow and working on a whole range of new pieces.  I'm going to change how I work a little bit too -- as well as having a catalogue of pieces that I make on commission to order, I'm also going to make more one-off pieces that will be ready to purchase.
